Top 3 Parks to Visit in Crestview Florida | Check it out!

Hey everybody! It is Andi G The Realtor with the Emerald Group right here in beautiful Crestview, Florida. If you are new here and you want more info on Crestview and other Emerald Coast cities, stay tuned with our new blogs every week on our website.
Let us get to it!
- Number Three on my countdown is Wayside Park. It is just off Hwy 85, on the right if you are headed north. Even if you’re just passing through Crestview, this is a great place to stop, stretch your legs, and have a little picnic before hopping on I-10. For the kids, there are two swing sets and two climbing frames to choose from, as well as some open space for tossing a ball or frisbee, practicing cartwheels, or just having a stroll under the trees. Bring a cooler and have your lunch on one of the picnic tables!
The other great thing about Wayside is the boat launch! Wayside backs up to the Shoal River, so boating enthusiasts can launch right into the water, with no docks and no parking fees!
- Number Two of my Top Three is Northview Park. Also south of I-10 but a bit farther west, Northview is a nice big park with lots of recreation options!
There is a kid-friendly area with a playground as well as a splash pad open during the warmer months. If you are not from around here, quite a few of our local parks have these mini water parks in our playgrounds because it gets HOT.
In addition to those more kid-centric features, there is a large field that is available for basically anything you want to use it for on a first-come, first-serve basis. I have seen folks out there playing football and soccer, as well as letting their dogs run and play fetch.
But, THE reason it is on the list is that Northview has a Disc Golf Course! So, if you are a fan, definitely worth the trip over. My husband and I gave it a shot and had fun despite spending most of our time looking for our frisbees. If you are interested in trying the game out, I can not imagine a better place to start!
- And Number One on my list of the Top Three Crestview Parks is Twin Hills Park! Twin Hills is right in the heart of Crestview, at the intersection of highways 85 and 90. And it is ENORMOUS. Honestly, I could talk about all the cool things about Twin Hills for ages, but I will try to keep it short.
Twin Hills has all the basics, playground equipment, and splash pad for the kids, picnic tables, and restrooms. It also has a paved walking trail that runs all around the park. It even has a lake in the middle of the park with a bridge over it. The bridge has benches so that you can have a seat and enjoy watching the local wildlife. Which is pretty much all ducks. I took this video in the spring, so I got to see a mama duck and her babies!
The most recent addition to Twin Hills is the new dog park! It has two sections, one for small dogs and one for large. It even has appropriately-sized play equipment for each weight class! Each section has a two-gate system to make sure that your dogs stay secure and safe. There is a shaded pavilion with benches, and water fountains for people and puppies! So, if you are a dog lover, this is a great place to spend an afternoon.
